Endowment Fund What will be your Legacy?
Have you considered supporting early literacy in your estate plan? After you’ve taken care of your family, you can make a lasting impact in our community by naming the Imagination Library of Grant County in your will.
We’ve established a permanent endowment at the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico to sustain our mission. Distributions from the fund will help provide long-term protection for future operations.
Speak with your financial advisor, attorney or CPA regarding a Beneficiary Designation Form to include the “IMAGINATION LIBRARY OF GRANT COUNTY LOREN AND BARBARA NELSON ENDOWMENT FUND” in your legacy planning.
Other ways to make a bequest can include:

We know you share our passion for literacy
and reading aloud to young children.
As an affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, we hope to prepare kids for success and inspire a lifelong love of reading by mailing free high quality books each month to children from birth to age five. That’s a home library of up to 60 books by the time a child goes to kindergarten!
Unrestricted donations are 100% tax-deductible and allow us to allocate our resources where needed.

Testimony of Founders, Loren and Barbara Nelson
Thank you for supporting the Imagination Library of Grant County. We are in a good place because of the trust you’ve placed in us. Since 2010, we have delivered 156,947 books to children in Grant County, NM and are focused on bringing this program to all NM children as Emeritus Directors of the Board.
To ensure our program’s future, the Board created an endowment fund managed by the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico in Las Cruces.
While most of our assets will be passed on to grandchildren, we have designated a percentage of our estate to the endowment fund in our wills. Long after we and Dolly Parton are unable to help, our passion for early childhood literacy will reach generations to come.

Promote literacy for all Grant County preschool children by delivering books to their homes monthly and support the expansion of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library throughout the state of New Mexico.
